Belly Pics

Image
It seems like there is so much to do before our little girl arrives sometime around January 5th! We have been working on her room this weekend. When we moved into this house in April, the room was already a pink color with a pink fan/light fixture. It was a little bit too pink for me (and there were lots of nail holes that needed filling anyway), so we decided to change it to a blue color. It is kind of an aqua/turquoise shade of blue. It goes along with her bedding that has that color and pink and white. I'll show some pictures of the nursery after we get a bit more done. We should have the crib and dresser in there by the end of today. Then, I'll have to get to work on all of the other details. I've been really bad about taking any belly shots of this pregnancy. I'm 25 weeks right now, so I thought I better get one taken this weekend before I forgot to take any at all. I'm feeling huge already and I'm sure I'll get much larger by the end! I've felt a ...

A Long Week

Image
Curt has been out of town this week. He gets home tonight. Yay!!! Since he rarely travels it has felt like a very long time to have him gone. Skype and texting definitely helped me get through the week. Ben and I have stayed really busy every day this week, which is probably why we are hanging out at home today (still in our pajamas). It will be nice to be back to our normal routine tomorrow. :) Yesterday, we spent a few hours at the zoo. It was a beautiful sunny day, but a little on the chilly side. I think it was in the 50's the whole time we were there. It wasn't busy at all. I love when we can just take our time and not have people crowding behind us, pressuring us to move through an area quickly. I took some pictures, but I'm sure you've seen Ben a similar pose many times, so I won't bore you with captions.

Ponds and Chalkboards

Over the past couple weeks, Ben and I have been working on a unit about ponds. I wanted to continue doing some different "school" things with Ben this year, like I did last year with choosing a letter for each week. I found a really great website that has theme units (with printables) already put together. It is 1+1+1=1  and I used one of the "preschool packs." We did lots more things than I took pictures of, like writing activities and games, but the pics give you an idea of what we've been up to. I added some crafts and snacks to make it a little more fun. Up next...a Cars theme. I'm sure Ben will be pumped about that one! I hung a few of the activities on Ben's art wire. I think the turtle he made is especially cute.  I made fish, dragonfly, and turtle finger jello.  For one of the art projects, I cut out a turtle and fish shape for Ben. Then I used contact paper over one side to make a sticky surface. He placed pieces of felt on the sticky part and...
