Christmas with the Walkers

My camera was acting up most of the morning that we opened presents, so I missed a lot of good pictures. But, I still have a few from the day to share. Ben opening one of his presents.
Being silly with the bow on his head. He did really well with the presents for a while, but then got a little bit overwhelmed near the end. We found out later that two more teeth were coming in (that makes 14 teeth)! So, that might explain some of his morning crankiness.
Having a ride on Grandma Walker's leg. He was loving it...it's hard to see his smiling face because he kept turning it away from the camera.

Ben's new little buddy was Mark and Betsy's dog, Charlie. Ben first met Charlie at Thanksgiving and he was excited to see him again. So far, he hasn't met an animal that he doesn't like.
Ben's favorite thing to do...climb the stairs. He likes to climb them over, and over, and over. He is really good at going up, but can't seem to master coming down.

What fun memories, Melissa. We sure enjoyed our time together, but it went so fast! Hard to believe is over and all we have is lots of good memories. I'm so thankful for a little extra time with Ben this time. I enjoyed the time I could spend with him---he is so cute, and growing so fast! Enjoy the rest of your Christmas celebration.

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
