Happy Birthday Ben!!!

It is hard to believe that Ben is two years old today. Everyone always says that kids grow up so fast, and it is certainly true. It doesn't feel that long ago that I was snuggling with him for the first time in the hospital.

I'm so proud to be Ben's mom. He is such a sweet, caring, and energetic boy. I look forward to spending many more birthdays together! We love you Ben!

Last year, he had a Curious George 1st birthday party when we celebrated with my family.

This morning we let Ben open up one of his presents. It was Rocket from Little Einsteins. He was very excited!

Later, after Curt comes home from work we will continue the birthday celebration with cupcakes and more presents.

The changes that happen in two short years are amazing...what a sweetie he is ..give him a birthday hug & smooch from grandpa & grandma...Hope he has a wonderful birthday :) Enjoy the cupcakes ..they look good !!

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
