Leftovers from last week...

We had a fun week last week with Curt off of work. It was nice to spend time together as a family. Ben had lots of fun playing with new (and old) toys. He also liked daddy's new toy (his guitar for Guitar Hero). Curt let him try it out a few times.

We are back into the swing of things with Curt back to work today. I am now the designated person to play cars with all day long. Ben told Curt yesterday that he was going to play cars with me today and watch movies. I guess we'll have to find a movie to watch this afternoon if the list is going to be fulfilled. :)

Cute pictures! I'm glad to see Curt playing a musical instrument again! I had always hoped I'd passed on my love of music! :-) Watching Ben dance around to the music around him, I'm thinking he's got a "music gene" in him! We'll see. :-)

Cute pictures...Ben looked like he was enjoying that guitar & such a big boy with his tools too :) Have fun playing cars....hope you were able to have an assortment now that he has doubles of some.Can't wait to see you all on Saturday!!! Love Mom

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
