Blizzard 2011

Being from Michigan, it has been interesting to hear everyone freaking out this week about the blizzard. Thankfully, I got groceries this weekend and did not need to be a part of the madness that was going on at the area grocery stores. On Tuesday, there was probably only about three inches of snow outside and all of the schools were cancelled. It made me laugh. Growing up, I remember spending many mornings digging my car out of the driveway, so that I could get to school. Memories like those are a big part of the reason I am NOT a fan of winter. :)

This morning we had maybe a foot of snow. Curt did not have to go into work, but has been working from his computer at home. He took a break this morning to help me shovel the driveway. When we were out shoveling, it was funny to watch Ben try to walk through the yard. It was pretty deep for a three year old! It seemed like all of our neighbors were out with snow blowers and one came down to our house and finished up our driveway. So nice of him! After playing in the snow for a while in the backyard, we came in to get some hot chocolate.

I heard that the groundhog is predicting an early spring...we'll see.

 Ben in his favorite hide-out.
Photographic proof that I was outside today. :)
Curt relaxing after shoveling the sidewalk in front of our house.
Ben played with our neighbors, Alex and Morgan, in our backyard. Since it was hard for him to walk in the snow they kept trying to pull him up the hill in his sled. It was funny to watch them. He is not light!
