Ben's Travels

We are working on getting all settled in our new house. I'll post some pictures soon after we get a few for things organized. Yesterday Curt and I spent the whole day painting the kitchen/living room. I had talked myself out of doing it a few times, but decided in the end I would regret not doing it while Ben was away.

Speaking of Ben, he is spending the whole week at his Aunt Betsy and Uncle Mark's house. They came down this past weekend (along with Curt's parents) to help us move our big furniture. He was SO EXCITED to go stay with his cousins. He has been wanting to pack his bag all week. I don't think he is going to miss us at all, but we sure do miss him. I've been busy today getting things done in the new house today and it is strangely quiet without Ben. We've only ever been away from him for one night before, so I'm sure it's good for all of us to let Ben stay somewhere else. Enjoying December

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. We're hoping that I'll have the baby while they are here, but I'm not sure that is going to happen since they head home tomorrow. Ben ...

The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
