Easter
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
With kids, it's easy to get caught up in the extra "Easter" things like egg hunts, baskets, and other projects. I love to see Ben get excited about those things, but I hope that we've also done a good job of talking about what Easter really means. I'm so thankful for my Savior and all that He has done for me!
Beware of the picture overload below! I thought I'd share a few of the fun things we did this week.
Earlier this week, Ben made this cute bunny face with cotton balls.
He also made a chick with his handprints.
I got a quick picture of Ben and Lucy before church last night. Ben was not too thrilled about taking a picture.
Curt and Lucy
Ben and Lucy's Easter baskets all ready for them to wake up in the morning. Ben was very excited to get a black Yoshi!
We made "Resurrection Rolls" this morning to go with our breakfast. Ben made these last year when he was staying with his Aunt Betsy. I thought it was a fun way to talk about the meaning of Easter.
Ben dipped the marshmallow in butter then into a cinnamon/sugar mixture. It is supposed to be Christ's body being prepared for burial in the tomb.
Our "Resurrection Rolls" all ready for the oven.
Curt set up an Easter egg hunt for Ben while we were waiting for the rolls to cook.
He had fun finding all of the eggs.
When we opened the rolls the marshmallow was gone. We talked about how Jesus' tomb was empty because he rose from the dead!
In the afternoon we made edible bird's nests. Ben doesn't love getting his hands sticky. :)
He filled the nests with chocolate eggs.
We each got a chocolate Peep to go with our nest.
Happy Easter!
