Reunion

Sadly, I failed once again...

I forgot to take my camera out the whole weekend we were with Curt's family! Since I am holding Lucy a lot of the time, I seem to forget to capture any memories. Thankfully my sister-in-law Betsy took a big group shot at the Walker family reunion. It makes me laugh though because in the picture Lucy is screaming and Ben looks so bored. What can you do? :)

Lucy is such a sweet girl, who makes me smile every day, but she wore me out this past weekend. She really didn't want anyone to hold her besides myself or Curt. That made for some very tired arms. She also had tons of spit up for some reason. At our family get together, I think I had to change her clothes at least eight times from all of the spit-up. She also made a mess of my shirt and jeans...of course I didn't have a change of clothes for myself. There are many more things I could add to the list, but I don't want to bore you. It was an adventure. :) These are the experiences that make for good stories when you get past the baby stage! She went right to sleep in her bed tonight. I think she was so happy to be sleeping back in her crib again.

Enjoying December

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. We're hoping that I'll have the baby while they are here, but I'm not sure that is going to happen since they head home tomorrow. Ben ...

The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
