A Little Update

 
Spring Break flew by in the 'blink of an eye'...unless you count the day that Ben had the flu. That didn't go by that quickly for any of us. Then, the rest of us slowly caught the flu over the next week. I'm thankful that we are all feeling healthy again.
 
We decided to visit our families on the weekends of Spring Break. It was nice to visit with everyone and have a little down time in between visits. I loved the slow mornings together. I miss that sweet boy when he's at school. I'm sure summer will go by waaaaay too fast!
 

 
Cadillac Trip
 The kids love to read books with Grandma.
 Jenna brought some jewelry over to let Lucy accessorize. She's going for a Mr. T look. :)
 
Grandma gave the kids piano lessons. :)
We got to meet some new animal friends at Mark and Betsy's house. Lucy held one of the little tiny new kittens.
Then, I held it for her because I was afraid she was going to squeeze it to much!
We also got to see 3 of the new baby goats. They brought them up to the house so that we didn't have to all go down to the barn in the snow.
 
Bowling
 


  The whole family went bowling on a Saturday afternoon. It was during Lucy's naptime and I was surprised at how well she did. Ben and Lucy both had so much fun bowling with their cousins.
 
Back at Home

We got outside and enjoyed the sunshine. The kids were happy to get on the swingset again.
 Ben had his friend Evan spend the night. We took our first trip to Jungle George's and had a great time!
 Lucy likes to sneak in Ben's bed and pretend to take a nap. She is a silly girl. :)
 
 
I totally forgot to get my camera out the whole time we visited my family in Grand Rapids...next time. :)

Enjoying December

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. We're hoping that I'll have the baby while they are here, but I'm not sure that is going to happen since they head home tomorrow. Ben ...

The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
