Catching up with Summer...the backwards edition

I haven't been a good blogger this summer, but since I love to look back at old pictures on the blog, I wanted to at least give a quick glimpse of our summer. We didn't do any super exciting exotic trips, but we had lots of fun together as a family and that's what great memories are made of. We did take two separate trips up to Michigan to see our families. We tried to fill our days with fun activities like going to the beach, zoo, mini-golf, etc...It was great to visit with everyone and the kids loved playing with their cousins! Overall it has been a really great summer. I cannot believe that school starts tomorrow. How is Ben already a first grader? AHHHH! I know he will do great tomorrow. I, on the other hand, will probably be hiding some tears as he gets on that bus in the morning.

Ben started soccer practice and has his first game his Saturday. (He's in the gray shirt)
We went to Parkview Park after dinner last week. It was fun to run around together. That is a hard park to keep on eye on little ones, so I was thankful to have Curt's help.

We went to the zoo earlier that day and these two were entranced by this peacock. They literally watched it for like ten minutes.
 Love these two sweet kids!
Curt met us for lunch one day at the mall. The kids begged for a carousel ride. How can you not say yes? :)
Ben took private swimming lessons this summer. He has come so far! He jumped off the diving board with his instructor at the last practice. He's been jumping off the side to her in the water during the other ones. When we started the summer he was still scared of getting water in his ears. Now he can get his head all the way under and swim a little bit.
Ben had school pics at registration. The line was so long so I tried to take a few pictures for fun. He let me take a couple, but this one about sums up how he feels...Mom, you are totally embarrassing me! :)
We had a fun afternoon at the pool with our friends.
TinCaps game in the end of July.
Swimming at Grandma and Gramp's house.
I totally rode on a camel at the zoo. It was fun, but way bumpier than I excepted. I was holding Lucy SOOO tightly.
 Cousins together at the zoo.
Grand Haven Beach with the fam.
 Yay for the beach!
 Lucy and her cousin Molly.
July 4th at the TinCaps-We loved the fireworks...the traffic getting home...not so much.
4th of July fun at the zoo.
All the cousins together in Cadillac.
