My Birthday and a trip to the ER

I had fun celebrating my birthday this year with Curt and the kids! We all went out to Red Lobster for lunch. Ben had his first meal of crab legs (he has tried before). I had crab legs too and ended up getting most of his out of the shells for him. He doesn't have quite the hang of it yet. That made a little extra work for me. :)

In the afternoon, we had our favorite babysitter come over while Curt and I headed to see a movie. There weren't a lot of choices out, so we went with the new James Bond movie. After bringing the babysitter home, we had a light dinner and saved room for the YUMMY cheesecake that Curt made for dessert.

When we got the kids ready for bed the real drama happened...Lucy's arm got hurt. The kids were in their pjs and I was getting Lucy's bed ready when the kids were running in the hallway. They went down the stairs and on the way back up Lucy slipped. Ben was holding her hand at the time. She started screaming. They came into her room and she said that her arm hurt. They both said that they had heard a noise and Ben thought maybe he had cracked her knuckles from squeezing too tight. She kept pointing to her forearm and saying that it where it hurt. In a matter of minutes, she crying hard and in a lot of pain. She did not want anyone to touch or move her arm. Lucy is usually pretty tough, so this wasn't normal for her. We were worried that her arm was broken. We loaded into the van and headed to the ER. This is the first time we have ever taken our kids to the ER. When the dr came in he said that it might be "nurse-maid's elbow" and that her elbow was out of place. He moved her arm around a bit and poor Lucy looked like she was in so much pain. Then, they took an x-ray to make sure it wasn't broken. As we sat and waited, Lucy started chatting and smiling again. I was in shock. It was around 10-15 minutes after the dr had been in. She picked up her arm and said it was all better. She had been in so much pain before that and would not move that arm at all. It was crazy! The dr came back in and said he thought he had heard a pop while adjusting her arm and now it was back in place. That was it! All fixed! I was so happy that she didn't need a cast.

 Eating lunch at Red Lobster's.
The yummy chocolate chip cheesecake that Curt made for us.
When we first got to the hospital, she was trying to be so brave. She even did a little smile for me.
 Someone is perking up.
All better! She was so happy to have her arm fixed.
Hanging out and waiting to go home and get some sleep.
