Since, we don't have very many close-up pictures of Curt with Ben, I asked if they would pose for a picture before church yesterday. Ben was surprisingly cooperative...although I didn't catch a good smile. He was doing so well with pictures, I decided to try to get one of the two of us too. I'm not sure what he's pointing at...he's probably thinking, "Enough pictures, let me go over there and play with my toys!"

It is a beautiful sunny day out today. I thought it would be a good day to take a trip to the zoo. We met Patty and her daughter Olivia there. I'm sure it will be the first of many trips to the zoo this year! Soon after we arrived, Olivia and Ben went on a pony ride. Ben has ridden a pony before, but not at the zoo. He was very excited to go for a ride. (Betsy-he rode Sadie the same pony that Jenna rode when you visited. I told that to Ben and he thought that was pretty cool to ride the same one as Jenna!) Ben riding Sadie around the circle. We took a ride on the caroursel and I tried to get a picture of the two of us. That never seems to turn out so well for me. I was surprised to catch Ben smiling. Ben played on "Little Poof" for a little bit, while Olivia and Patty went for a train ride. He was happy to be able to run around and stretch his legs. We ended at the farm area. Yesterday we had a busy morning with Ben's baseball class and getting groceries. Since Ben did a great job listening during both things, I let him pick out a treat at the store. We saw the ice cream cones while we were shopping and Ben asked if he could have that for his treat. After we got home, I let him have a chocolate ice cream cone. He loved it and ate every bite. It was the first time he ever had an ice cream cone at our house. We don't have treats like that every day, but sometimes you need to take time to enjoy a sweet treat! :)

The last few days have been really busy for our family. We found out on Tuesday that Curt's Grandma Walker passed away. We arrived in Cadillac, MI on Thursday evening and were able to spend some time with Curt's extended family at a private visitation. The funeral took place on Friday morning and it was a beautiful service. It was nice to be able to hear testimonies from people of the legacy that she left behind. She loved the Lord and she is in heaven rejoicing with her Saviour right now! On Saturday, we were able to celebrate three birthdays that took place in April. We had fun going to the YMCA pool, having cake, and then the adults all got to go out to dinner. It was a busy day, but we enjoyed every part of it! Now we are home relaxing...sort of. :) I am trying to get caught up on laundry and have already unpacked everything. After the laundry is done, I'll really be able to relax! I met some friends this morning at Grabill Park. I haven't been there before, but overall I thought it was a nice little park. The toys are geared for younger kids, so I was able to let Ben run around and climb on things without too much fear of him getting hurt. It was extremely windy which made it feel pretty cold there. We were going to eat a picnic lunch there too, but as it got closer to noon, Ben and I were pretty frozen. I decided it would be best to head home to thaw out. When we got home, I put a blanket on the living room floor and we had a picnic inside the house. Ben thought that was pretty fun! Going down one of the smaller slides at the park. Riding on a turtle. Yesterday morning, I watched Evan for a little while, so Glenda could get some things done for their move next week. Ben had so much fun playing with Evan. They spent most of the morning playing with cars...a favorite activity for Ben. Usually Ben wants me to play cars too, but I didn't even get asked. We had Ben's Lil' Sluggers baseball class again this morning. It is every Monday for eight weeks. I was able to snap a couple pictures of him practicing his hitting. They turned out a little blurry...my camera is not the best. :) He's been learning about hitting, throwing, catching, and running the bases. Getting ready to hit the ball. SWING!
