Buckner Park

We decided to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather by taking a trip to the park. We went to Buckner Park, a new park to the south of us. It has nice equipment for the kids to play on and a splash pad. Ben loved every minute of it!

Curt coaxed Ben through the sprinkling frog. He got pretty wet!


He wasn't so excited about the frog getting him so wet. He had to run to daddy for a hug.

He liked watching a bucket tip and pour water on the kids beneath it.

We packed a lunch to eat while we were there. It was nice to sit in the sun and eat together. We had such a good time playing at the park together...it was a perfect way to spend the day.

That looks like a fun place....is it close to your house ? Ben is getting so big....can't wait to see you guys...we'll have to get the pool nice & warm & maybe Ben will like that too. Love, Mom

Enjoying December

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
