Michigan State Weekend

We traveled up to Lansing yesterday to spend some time with Curt's family and for Curt to go to the MSU game today with his dad. We haven't seen everyone since Christmas, so it was wonderful to get together. Ben was so excited to see the family and play with his cousins. After we were driving home today, he kept asking if we could go back to Aunt Betsy's house!

The boys before they headed to the MSU game: Curt, Jacob(nephew), Mark (brother-in-law), and Curt's dad. Mark and Jacob were able to get tickets at the last minute from a friend that couldn't use them. They were all excited to go see the game.

Awww, of course he can come back to Aunt Betsy's house!! :)))) I miss him already! I was so happy you guys could come and we really enjoyed spending time with all of you! Can't wait til March! :) I like the MSU shots.....that was way up there, but at least you could still see everything! :D Have a good week!

Awww, I'd kiss that cute little face! He was really enjoying that cupcake though, and his face proved it. :-) He grows and changes so much between visits. I love to hear him talk, and he is SOOO SMART! Now, I know I'm his Grandma, but he really is!!! It was great to be together, and have a chance to catch up. We look forward to our next gathering---

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
