Sweatin' in the Sun

Ben and I spent this morning soaking up some sun! We went for a walk to our neighborhood playground and after we got home Ben played golf in the backyard. It is nice to see the sun instead of rain, but my perfect day would be a few degrees cooler. I am not a humidity fan and it makes Ben drip with sweat after only about 20 minutes outside. Poor boy...I'll probably spend half of the summer toweling sweat from his head. :)

Ben wanted me to set up Curt's "chipping" net. I have no idea if I did that right. He tried to hit balls into the net and in his "Cozy Cone." It came with his golf set for putting practice and he also uses it for his cars to sleep in like the "Cozy Cone" from the movie Cars.

Awww...poor Ben. It has been a hot one so far, but I'm lovin it! ;D You'll have to get a big pool in your backyard, so we can all come use it! hee! :) Enjoy the sunshine!!

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
