Family Vacation

Last week Sunday, we left Indiana for a few day family vacation in northern Michigan. We were celebrating Curt's parent's 40th anniversary with all of his siblings. We rented a house in the Crystal Mountain Resort that had six bedrooms and enough space for all of us. There were lots of activities such as golfing, playing at the resort pool, and spending a day at the beach.

The day that we went to the beach started out cloudy and windy. I was wrapped up in a towel, thinking that this was the coldest day that I have ever spent at Lake Michigan in the summer. But, later in the afternoon the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful beach day. Ben loved every minute of it. He was literally rolling in the sand.

Curt and Ben testing out the cold Lake Michigan water right after we arrived at the beach in Frankfort.
Some of the fam playing football.

Jacob jumping from a hill on the sand dune.
 Peyton's turn.
We walked with Ben down the pier to the lighthouse. I didn't realize how small the pier would get about halfway into our walk. I was so nervous that Ben would fall over the edge. We were definitely holding his hand SUPER tight.
Ben loved laying (and rolling) around in the sand. I wish we lived closer to the beach so we could take him more often.
This is a picture during our drive back to Indiana. We had stopped at Subway for lunch and Ben got some Green Lantern stuff in his kid's meal. He thought it was awesome and wore it most the ride home.

That was SO MUCH FUN! I wish we were still there on vacation! ;)) The beach sounds pretty good this week with the 90-100 degrees we're having!
Ben's lantern stuff does look awesome! ;)
