Splash Park

Ben and I met my friend Bekah and two of her kids (Isaiah & Amarah) at a new splash park this morning. It is called "Taylor's Dream" and is located at Kreager Park. It just opened up earlier this summer and we were excited to finally get to spend a few hours there. It is a really nice park with lots of equipment for kids of all ages. The kids were having so much fun that we stayed over three hours!

 I was surprised that Ben got into the water today. Sometimes he doesn't like it when water is spraying in his face. He got really soaked today and it was nice to see him conquer that fear.

Isaiah, Amarah, and Ben on a toy that was kinda like a big boat. There were seats on each side and you could get it to rock back and forth.

Overall, it was a perfect morning. The park wasn't too busy and the weather was wonderful. It was a great way to end the week!

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
