Catching Up

Life has been busy around here! We are getting used to being a family of four and learning to deal with not as much sleep as we would like.  Lucy will be 4 weeks old on Wednesday. I can't believe how quickly those weeks have flown by. We've had lots of visits from family and friends who traveled from out of town. It's been nice to share Lucy with everyone without having to pack up and head somewhere. I haven't done a great job taking pictures, but I'll try to get better at getting the camera out every day. The following pictures are from the last couple weeks...sadly I didn't even get pictures of all of our visitors. At least we had a good time together, even if I don't have the pictures to prove it! :)

Lucy has really enjoyed using the swing. She loves to take little naps in it during the day. Ben thought they should have a picture together.

My sister and her family came for a visit a couple weeks ago. They came during her long afternoon naptime. My sister tried really hard to get her to wake up. They need to come in the evening because that is her party time. :)

 Ben loves to show things to Lucy. One morning he got out a rattle and bear to share with her.
 This past weekend, the Bairds came for a visit. The boys had a fun time playing together. On Saturday I found them in the guest room taking turns playing with Jackson and Luke's DS's.
 Before bed they all had to say goodnight to Lucy.
 My friend Glenda made Lucy some really cute headbands. She tried one out this weekend and I think she looks adorable.

It's so fun to see all the pictures of all the visitors. I was surprised to see how big your neices have gotten since I saw them! Thanks for sharing!

Enjoying December

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
