A Mario Weekend

If you've spoken to Ben any time in the last couple months, then you know of his love for all things Mario. Because of this great love, we decided to give Ben the new Super Mario Brothers Wii game for Valentine's Day. We surprised him with it this weekend since it would give him some more time to play it with Curt. The game allows for more than one player, so they can play it together. I still haven't caught the Mario bug, but I'm sure Ben will get me involved with the game eventually. :)

 Doesn't this girl have the cutest smile? She is so sweet. Notice how Ben thinks that Lucy appreciates Mario stuff too and let her borrow Luigi.

What beautiful children you have! Little Lucy is so cute, sitting up like a big girl in her swing. I love that sweet smile. She's changing so quickly! And Ben continues to grow like a weed---and sounds like he's loving his new sister. Wish I could give them both a big hug today---I miss you all so much!

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
