Miss Lucy

I can't believe that on July 4th, our little Lucy will already be 6 months old! I decided this week to finally get started with feeding her rice cereal. I wasn't really in a rush to try baby food this time around. I think it's the crazy mess that comes with it...not my favorite stage. But it is certainly fun to watch babies try new things.
 She tried her first meal in the Bumbo seat. I didn't feel like dragging the high chair up from the basement. I did bring it up today and now it will remain a permanent fixture in our kitchen...at least for a couple years.
 Does it look like she likes it? I'm not so sure.
Lucy LOVES taking a bath. It always makes her happy, even if she is cranky before getting in the tub. She loves to kick and splash the water. If I say, "Good job Luce!" she'll get really excited and kick her legs even harder.

Oh my! Lucy is just getting so big! She is a beautiful little girl, and I love her sweet smile. It was fun to catch up on these pictures, but it will be even more fun to see all of you in person! Just a few more days! Can't wait!

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself.
