So Long May!

Image
I can't believe that tomorrow will already be June 1st! I think that I'm really feeling the shortness of summer this year since Ben starts school on Aug. 14th. Ugh! Why do they have to start so early? Oh well, we will have as much fun before that as we can. June is already looking like it's going to be a great month, with a vacation at a house right on Lake Michigan and my brother Matt's wedding. I hope it warms up a little bit, so we're not wearing our sweatshirts on the beach all week. Below are a few pictures of what we've been up to the last couple weeks in May. The garden is planted and growing. Another fun morning was spent at the zoo. Lucy really liked getting out of her stroller to see the goats. I got to see one of Ben's t-ball games. Curt helps out as an assistant coach. In this picture, he and Ben are out in the field. It was hard to get a close picture from my phone. Ben's turn to bat!   We spent Memorial weekend with ou...

Preschool Graduation

Image
Ben had his preschool graduation last night. It was so fun to see him having a good time up on the stage. He didn't seem nervous at all! He has told me many times over the last couple weeks that he would be carrying in the flag. He was very excited about that part of the program. We are so proud of our preschool graduate! He has learned so much this year and will be prepared for kindergarten. (Even though this mommy might not be ready for that!) Walking in the flag. He took his duty very seriously. Holding the flag for the pledge. This was a Silly Sticks song and Ben was hilarious. He was really getting into it and I wish that I had a video. I really could not believe how comfortable he was up on the stage. All of the classes at this graduation sang three songs together. (They also had two other nights of graduations this week.) Ben with his teacher, Mrs. Miller.   Ben and his buddy Brennan.  Ben, Nevin, and Brennan ...

Loving Spring!

Image
The sun is shining, the temps are warm, and we are LOVING it! This is my favorite time of year. I love to see all of the bright colored flowers and green grass. Lucy's afternoon naps keep us close to home, but we've had fun just playing out in our yard while she sleeps. When she wakes up, she loves to come outside to swing and play in the sandbox. Tomorrow is Ben's last day of preschool. I can't believe that it is the end of the school year already. We're excited for our summer plans, but I know he will miss his teacher and classmates quite a bit. I know I will miss them too. I tend to have a hard time with change and I've felt myself feeling very nostalgic about not driving to his school anymore. Next year he will be a big Kindergartner...how did this happen? I blinked and my baby grew up!  We signed Ben up for T-ball this year with the Leo/Grabill Little League. He wasn't sure if he wanted to sign up back when it was time to turn in the paperwork. ...

The Zoo is Open!

Image
On Monday, we made our first trip of the year to the zoo. The weather was in the 60's and cooperated with no rain. We met our friends Erin, Will, and Lauren. Ben had a great time walking around with Will. They don't get to see each other that much with Ben's preschool schedule. It wasn't busy at all. That always makes me happy because crowds stress me out. The kids got to take their time everywhere we went. We even brought lunches with to enjoy out on the picnic tables. I can't wait to go back again soon!
