Halloween 2013
This year, Halloween day felt very busy. Lucy and I were gone all morning at the Bible study I attend at my church. Then, Ben's fall party was that afternoon at school and I went in to help. It was fun to get to know his classmates more, but it certainly made the day a little crazier to pack that in too. Besides all of that, the weather was horrible...really windy and rainy. I was so tired of going out in the wind & rain way before it was even trick-or-treating time. We decided to try out the trick-or-treating at the mall with our friends the Yoders. It started a little earlier and was indoors. Both a plus to me! I will say that it wasn't quite the same as going around the neighborhood, but with Lucy being so little this option was nice.
DECORATING PUMPKINS
The weekend before Halloween, we worked on our pumpkins. We decided to paint them this year. It is much faster than carving and we didn't have a lot of time for it with Ben's party stuff that weekend.
Ben made the Angry Bird and Lucy had the Hello Kitty witch.
Ben really wanted to make this super hero kit too, so I said that could be mine and he could help decorate it. Curt usually carves his every year, but we thought it would be fun to have a Luigi out there. I whipped up a hat/mustache and he drew on the face.
FALL PARTY
Eating a candy corn colored pretzel stick.
Making a jack-o-lantern tea light.
Making a bat finger puppet. This is the table that I worked at during the party.
One of our little table groups. The kids moved around to each activity like they do for centers.

TRICK OR TREAT TIME
Lucy and Ben had fun getting candy at the mall.
Luigi and Princess Peach.
Princess Peach, Minnie Mouse, another Princess Peach, and the Luigi Bros
The mall got really crowded. This picture does not do it justice. The best part was enjoying Chick-fil-a when we were done!
