Pumpkin Patch

In October, we visited the Hilger Family Farm for the first time. Now that Lucy is getting a little older, places like this are more fun. We thought it was a nice farm with lots of fun things for little kids. Lucy had lots of activities to do that were just the right size for her. We got there soon after it opened and by the time we left the place was packed! I don't always enjoy crowded (claustrophobic) places, so I'm glad we got there early. 
  Ben and Lucy are standing in front of a kid's maze. Lucy loved it and went through several times.
 
 In the barn, they had some swings set up.

 Ben liked this slide and some big tube slides that were hooked to a swingset. (I didn't get any pictures of those.) 
 
They also had a corn maze that we went through really quickly. We might have to find a more challenging one next year. Then, we went on a hay ride before picking out some pumpkins and treats to take home. What a fun morning!

Enjoying December

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. We're hoping that I'll have the baby while they are here, but I'm not sure that is going to happen since they head home tomorrow. Ben ...

The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
