Christmas in Cadillac


Friday after we unpacked our stuff, we headed to Tim and Molly's house. We had a fun afternoon/evening hanging out together and celebrating Lucy & Molly's birthdays. Saturday, we celebrated Christmas at my in-laws. We opened stockings, had a big breakfast, opened presents, and had a delicious dinner. There was lots of time to play games and try out new toys. By, the time we left Sunday morning I think we were all pretty worn out from four full days!

She loved her new book! She can listen to Grandma's recorded voice reading it to her.
 
 She was super excited about her new Anna dress. She had to wear it the rest of the day.

There was an intense ping pong tournament that took place during the afternoon.
 Betsy made cupcakes for the party. They were SOOO good!

 This sweet girl got an apple in her stocking and immediately took a bite out of it. She must have been hungry because she ended up eating most of it.
 This is the only picture I got of the kids opening presents...and the rest of the day for that matter. I did not do that great at taking pictures on this trip. At least I got a few. :)

Enjoying December

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
