Lucy's 3rd Birthday

On Sunday January 4th, we celebrated Lucy's 3rd birthday. It was fun to have her birthday on the weekend so that we could spend the whole day together celebrating! 
I can't believe that she is 3 already! Lucy has such a fun personality. She is always making us laugh with her silly phrases and stories!
She was excited to wake up and open her presents. It probably felt like Christmas morning all over again.
She loved her new cozy Elsa & Anna blanket.
 
This is the silly smile we usually get for pictures lately. :)
We put up some Frozen decorations and I think it turned out cute. It was just the four of us, so we just kept it pretty simple.
Lucy was thrilled when she saw everything in the morning!

I made her my best attempt at a Frozen cake. She thought it was cute, so that's all that matters. :)
 

We went to her favorite Moe's for lunch. She LOVES the chips and queso. 


Lunch is not complete without a cookie.
Someone enjoyed his taco and chips. Some of it might still be on his face. :)
After lunch we came home and had Lucy's cake. It was yummy!

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. We're hoping that I'll have the baby while they are here, but I'm not sure that is going to happen since they head home tomorrow. Ben ...

The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
