Ho! Ho! Ho!

Image
Santa made a little visit to the Leo-Cedarville Park this evening. We stopped by so that Ben could meet him & share what he would like for Christmas. Ben was not nervous at all and climbed right up on his lap. After meeting Santa, Ben got to get some hot chocolate and decorate a cookie. The pavilion was pretty crowed so we tried to stand out of the way while he ate his cookie. Then, we waited in one last line for the balloon man. I thought Ben would pick a cute reindeer, but after he saw a little boy with a sword that was all he could think about. He is such a boy! :)  Waiting in line to meet Mr. Claus.  Telling Santa what he would like for Christmas.  Curt helped Ben decorate his cookie. Showing off his awesome sword!

Snow Has Arrived!

Image
Yesterday, since we had enough snow on the ground to play in, we bundled up and went outside. I'm not a lover of winter. It's pretty much the worst time of year to me. But, I know that I'll have to deal with my cold weather hate and allow Ben to have some good snow memories. :) Today we probably have another inch or so of snow and Ben is begging to go out again. It might take a miracle to get me out there two days in a row!  My two boys ready for some fun in the snow.  Curt showing Ben how to make a snow ball. Ben trying to throw his snowball.

The Letter "T"

Image
Last week, we took a break from working on a letter because we were only home for two days before we needed to travel for Thanksgiving. This week we got right back into it with the letter T/t.  Ben worked on several projects, so beware...there are many photos below. :)  Placing stickers on the lowercase t.  Lowercase t became train tracks for Ben's Thomas stickers.  Covering the uppercase T with tissue paper.  The finished uppercase T.  We found a fun tree art project while we were at Target. I was going to have him make a tree with popsicle sticks, but changed my mind when I saw this one. He really liked putting the stickers on it. We put it on his dresser to decorate his room for Christmas.  Ben's cool sports tree.  Painting a paper plate orange for his tiger's face.  Gluing on all of the little details.  Ben's completed tiger. I think it's pretty cute. :)  I've been wanting to try to have Ben w...

Friends

Image
Ben and I had a fun morning visiting with our friends, Erin & Will. Baby Lauren snoozed the whole time. :) The boys were being so cute together, but as soon as I got the camera out I could not get them to look at me. Oh well...at least they were having a good time!

Thanksgiving

Image
The last few days have been filled with the three f's...family, friends, and food! We drove up to Cadillac, MI on Wednesday morning and arrived right at lunch time. Curt's mom is a kindergarten teacher and she had a half day of school. After all of her students went home, she gave Ben a little tour of the school and her classroom. Ben really enjoyed seeing everything in her room. He played with some pattern blocks, checked out the kitchen, and sat in one of the desks. I think he would go to school tomorrow if he could! I'm not really ready for that yet. We spent Thanksgiving day over at Mark and Betsy's house with all of Curt's family. We stuffed ourselves (of course) with lots of delicious food. Then, because it's part of Walker tradition the guys had to play a game of Risk. That only took a short 4.5 hours to complete. Curt was this years' winner! On Friday we headed to my parent's house in Grand Rapids. We were able to meet our friends Rachel and De...

GO COLTS!

A Week in Review

Image
MONDAY  On Monday, I celebrated my birthday. Curt took the day off of work and that was my favorite present. It was so nice to be able to spend all day with Curt and Ben.  Ben did not really want to take a picture with me, so the best I got was the two of us by the stairs.  Blowing out my candles...I cannot believe that I am that old! TUESDAY  My friend Erin had a baby girl on November 4th. Ben and I got to go over and meet her on Tuesday. Big brother Will is showing off his new sister Lauren in the picture.  This week we've been working on the letter J. On Tuesday, Ben did a couple letter projects in the afternoon.  He glued jelly beans on the uppercase J.  Ben working hard on the lowercase j.  He turned it into a jaguar. THURSDAY  Ben finished up his last Lil' Sluggers class on Thursday night. He has learned a lot over the last ten weeks! I think he looks so cute doing his stretches. Swing!
