Celebrating Christmas!

Yesterday, we spent the day celebrating Christmas as a family. We will be out of town visiting family on Christmas so we had to open our presents a little early. We picked Sunday because I wanted to do it on a day that we could spend the whole day together. It was fun to set cookies out for Santa the night before and then bring Ben down in the morning to see all of the presents!


After he first came downstairs in the morning, Ben had to check out all of the presents under the tree.

It was a rug that has roads on it and places from Cars. Ben was very excited to drive his cars on it!



His big present was a car/train table. He played with it all day! I'm glad that we already had it put together for him...it's no fun to have to wait to play! :) Overall, we had a great day together. Since we got some snow on Saturday, it felt like it was really Christmas!

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself.
