Soaking up some sunshine!


It is another beautiful day outside! I love to be able to play outside with Ben. This morning we did a little shopping at Toys 'R Us. I wanted to get Ben a baseball tee. He just started his Lil' Sluggers baseball class on Monday (it is 8 weeks long) and I wanted him to be able to practice at home. He was so excited to try it out. We only had about a half an hour outside before he needed to take a nap, but I promised that we can go back outside after he wakes up.

Ben trying out his new baseball tee. I also picked up a few extra baseballs at the store. That was helpful so that I didn't have to keep chasing after one or two balls.

What a cute boy. :-) Hard to believe it's mid-March and 63 degrees in Northern Michigan! We're loving it too! Enjoy the sunshine, and hugs to you all of you.

I'm glad we had time to make sugar cookies together. Christmastime does not seem complete without them. I frosted the cookies while Ben and Curt decorated.  Lots of sprinkles and chocolate chips!  Ben loved getting slippers and a robe with his "Christmas Eve" jammies. He does love to be cozy. We decided to move up our present opening a day early because we thought I might end up in the hospital on Christmas. But, today is the 27th and still no baby. So we were a bit off on that one.  Santa brought the Lewis Hamilton car that Ben had asked him for. He was very excited!  The new pirate ship has been a favorite. He has played with it a TON a last few days.  Ben also got a few more pirate dress-up things. I've heard "Aarg!" a lot lately. :)  My parents came yesterday for a visit since my dad has this week off of work. The Big 3-0!

Today I turned 30 years old. I didn't think that it would make me feel old, but it kinda does. :) I had a wonderful birthday. Curt went out and got us donuts for breakfast. Then, I got to open my presents. He did a great job shopping and I love everything he picked out! For lunch we went out to Olive Garden and then stopped by the mall for a little while. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at home. I hope this getting older doesn't mean that gray hairs are going to start showing up! While I got ready this morning, Curt got out his old car track. He hasn't used it in many years, so he wasn't sure if it would work. Ben loved watching the cars race around the track. We enjoyed eating lunch at Olive Garden. Ben was too interested in coloring to look up at the camera. I love cheesecake for my birthday and Curt made this one for me all by himself. It is a chocolate chip recipe that is one of my favorites. He only added one candle per decade...we didn't ...
