Disney Day 3: Animal Kingdom
We spent Tuesday of our trip at the Animal Kingdom. We were without a stroller because it still had not dried out from getting soaked the day before. It worked out well that we had this park planned next because it didn't require that much walking and Lucy did fine throughout the day. More rain was in the forecast, so I was a little bummed thinking we would spend another day drenched. But, besides a few sprinkles the day was dry.
A family selfie before heading into the park.
We saw a "memory maker" photographer by the Tree of Life, so we stopped for a few quick photos. It was really nice to use our magic bands and see all the pictures from the parks each day.
Tinkerbell flew into our photo!
Now this looks like a classic Ben & Lucy pose. :)
Our first fast pass was for Festival of the Lion King. We all really enjoyed the show!
Later, we had a fast pass for the Kilimanjaro Safari ride. Thank goodness because the line was crazy long!
Several giraffes walked right by us.
After that, we had lunch at the Harambe Market. The lunch was so fresh and delicious!
A photo with the Expedition Everest ride in the background. We did not ride that one. Lucy was too short, so we just stuck to things we could all do together.
Tarzan was hanging around, so we stopped for an autograph and photo. The kids both had their own books and they loved filling them up with the character's autographs!
Russell from Up passed by us. He was being escorted somewhere, so we couldn't stop him for a photo.
Lucy was just tall enough for the DINOSAUR ride. It moved pretty fast, so I kept holding her most of the ride. There was a scary dinosaur near the end and both the kids did not really like that. Lucy said, "That was not a nice dinosaur" after the ride was finished.
This picture makes me think of the magic of Disney. She was so excited to meet Mickey and Minnie!
Hugs for Mickey.
She gave Minnie's nose a kiss. :)
More hugs for Minnie!
Cheeeeese!
Later that evening as we walked back to our room from dinner, we snapped a couple photos. When we had meals at our resort we would walk over a bridge to the other side of the water. I had been afraid that we would have a REALLY long walk to meals, but it turned out our Aruba room had the nice bridge shortcut nearby.
There was a little beach area with hammocks that we would pass by on the way back to our room.
Curt took the kids swimming in the pool before it was time for bed and I stayed back to get everything organized for the next day at Magic Kingdom. We had a fun day and were all happy that we didn't end up wet and freezing like the day before!
