The Letter A

I decided a while ago that I would like to pick a letter every week to focus on with Ben and we are finally getting started. He already knows all of the capital letters and about half of the lowercase, but I thought it would be fun pick out some crafts/activities and really spend time on each letter. This is our first week and the letter is A! We actually started on Friday afternoon by making a delicious apple treat with Rice Krispies. Today, we've had so much fun looking for A's at the grocery store and doing a couple craft projects. Ben has been LOVING it...this boy enjoys a project!

Helping place the "stems" into our apples. Click HERE if you would like to try the recipe.
The finished apples.
Ben gave this treat a thumbs up!
This morning Ben made an alligator A. He started by coloring the capital A that I drew for him.
After I cut it out for him, Ben glued it on some blue paper and added the eyes.
Every alligator needs some teeth!
Ben also used an apple to stamp apple shapes with paint on paper.
Then he added a green leaf to each apple with his finger.
After his nap the apples were dry and I was able to cut them our for him. We used a paper plate to make a wreath shape and Ben glued the apples around the edge.
In the words of Ben, "Ta-Da!"
